The team provided First Aid support to the Victoria Inn Hockey Tournament at the beginning of December. Thanks to the members who volunteered to keep the players safe.
Brandon Search and Rescue has a new capability. We have acquired two new KEQJSK electric mountain bikes to assist in searches and provision of assistance at events. In addition Burley (http://burley.com) have donated two bike trailers to transport equipment, further improving our capability to respond on any of of our Search and Rescue tasks. Once again thank you to Burleys for their donation.
Thanks to the team members who provide First Aid for the RMNP Half Marathon on 17 Sep. Our participation helps awareness of us and what we do for the community.
Today, our team took off our hats and held a moment of silence for those who lost their lives 20 ago in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. Today, the Brandon Police Service and Emergency Responders came together to raise awareness for Mental Health in their Project Resilience 911 relay. Part of our team training is to practice those skills necessary in a winter ground search and rescue operation. On February 23, 2019, BRSARA members participated in the Coldest Night of the Year, providing First Aid support as needed. Hosted by Samaritan House Ministries, this important community event helps to support the homeless population throughout our coldest winter months.
