Thank to Brian Fowell

On 17-18 May 2023 Luke was tested and recertified as a SAR dog (Office of the Fire Commissioner). Testing included Tracking, Person Search, Article Search and Obedience

On 16 September 2023 SAR K-9 Luke attended a CKC tracking trial at Regina, Saskatchewan where he qualified for “Tracking Dog Excellent” (TDX) title.  TDX letters may be displayed after his name (Luke TDX)

The TDX is earned by following a track aged three to five hours, is 800 to 1,000 yard long and has five to seven directional changes with the additional challenge of human cross tracks.

Luke’s titles now include SAR K-9, TDX, TD, CD, CGN, RN, RA, RE and RM

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ground Search and Rescue Specialist Brian Fowell for the countless volunteer hours he has put in over the past several years assisting with Luke’s continued training. Without Brian’s dedication and perseverance Luke would not be the well-trained SAR K-9 he is today.

Brian truly lives the search and rescue motto “Training and Serving So Others May Live” You only have to save one to make it worthwhile and he has done more than that!
